Before you do that, we would like to bring the most important features of our solar panel insurance to your attention.
Our solar panel insurance consists of two components:
- Cover against calamities or catastrophes caused by external forces
- Theft (including where there is no forced entry);
- Other examples are hail damage, vandalism, lightning, overload and fire.
- Inherent defects are not covered.
- Direct financial consequential damage arising from an inherent defect.
- The repair costs (labour en transport) are covered.
- All costs are indexed to inflation.
- This concerns an all risk cover for installations up to £ 350,000.00.
- Higher amounts require consultation, but cannot (yet) be taken out using our online application.
- Loss of production
- Loss of production is caused by mechanical failures and calamities or catastrophes caused by external forces. In such cases, the solar panels do not generate any electricity and you therefore lose the benefit of being your own electricty producer, since the "net" energy calculation from the energy provider increases. This is also insured against.
- Loss of production is really intended for cases where spare parts are not in stock or where the delivery times are long.
- From 01-04 to 01-10, the compensation is £ 1.60 per kilowatt-peak (kWp) per day, outside these months, the compensation is £ 0.80 per kWp per day.
- Payment after 7 days down time with a maximum payment period of 26 weeks.
- Maximum payment for loss of production is £ 32.000,00.
Mechanical failures
The insurance does not cover mechanical failures. This includes failure of components like the inverter. This is generally a matter for the guarantee.
